A good friend of mine were emailing one day back and forth, sharing our tales of east vs. west coasts, and she mentioned she ran into Kaki King at one of those LA fusion places. They struck up a conversation, became friendly, and the next thing I know, I'm designing a site inspired by Kaki's immense musical talent.

I am still fond of the blue I used for this website, and the box elements helped me explore perspective. I've used a few of these techniques in later designs.

I'm still a huge fan of Kaki King, and I've gotten word from my friend that she has seen (and loved) the site.
